With the Little Gs both being boys there isn’t a lot of pink in our house. Or fairies. We do however have a doll’s house and tea set that are sometimes played with. And while The Fairies dvd kindly given to him by his cousin sits unwatched, Mr 3 is quite partial to an episode of Dora.

The other day we visited somewhere a bit out of the ordinary for us – a place which did not feature live animals or dinosaur displays. We went to Fairy Park.

On arrival Mr 3 set off up the hill to the castle, giving each display about 3 seconds of his time. Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty didn’t even get a look in as he ran by. I pointed out the fairies and mushrooms to deaf ears. Somehow I convinced him to peak in the window of The Three Little Bears but it wasn’t until he hit the dragon that he finally came to a stop.

Now this is more like it.

Baby G wasn’t quite sure what to make of all the talking and dancing creatures. It was perhaps a little his-size for his liking. But he came around eventually too.

Everyone loves a dragon it seems.

By the time we reached the playground at the end both were converted. It took a little convincing to get Mr 3 in the car, and he certainly wasn’t going until he’d seen everything, kiosk included. (It does double as a castle though, very impressive when you’re 3.)

Enjoying the show at last.

And as we drove out the gates Mr 3 had the cheek to remark: “But I didn’t see any fairies Mum.”
