You’ve probably read a little about me already. That’s the short version, now here’s the longer version.

After completing a degree in journalism and public relations I worked for a number of charities in writing and editing roles. During a stint travelling and living overseas I began freelance travel writing and on my return home took a role as a copywriter/project manager at a travel company. There I spent my days writing about touring amazing destinations in absolute luxury; destinations that I had visited on a lowly backpacker budget or – let’s be honest – I had never been to before. It was mostly the latter. For me, the world of salaried travel writing wasn’t as grand as it sounded.

And so I changed track, did a primary teaching degree and started teaching. A couple of years later I had my first son. I taught part-time until the birth of my second son. Now, I teach a few days here and there but I’m wanting to write again.

I started this blog because I missed writing. I started this blog as a way to get myself back out into the world of writing after a six year hiatus. I started this blog for me. I started this blog for my boys. And for you. I love to write to an audience. So come, read along.
